Encouraged by the specific request of parents and students for more course choices and extra-curricular activities, January Term also known as J-Term was initiated. J-Term is a two week term in January during which students sign up and are exposed to skill-based activities such as Survivor, Cooking, Piano, Guitar and educational activities such as Internships, Home Economics, Leadership, Building & Construction, and Trips both in & out of Ghana.

J-Term is now part of the AIS curriculum and all students are expected to sign up for one course. All courses are worth a quarter credit grade.

The first year of J-Term was exciting and fun-filled; new friendships were created and old ones were strengthened as students got to travel, carry out activities and share experiences outside of the normal school curriculum. Invaluable professional skills, life management, leadership training and character attributes were developed, along with an increased knowledge base.

Students and faculty are all always looking forward to J-Term with excitement as new courses continue to present themselves. Don’t delay in registering for the course of your choice in December!
