COVID-19 Policy

Based on CDC guidelines from August 11, 2022

  1. Day 0 is the day of a positive test performed or the start of symptoms.

  2. If exposed to a person who tested positive, wear a high-quality mask for ten days then get tested on Day 5. You may remove the mask when outdoors.

  3. Regardless of vaccination status, you should isolate yourself from others when you suspect and do not have the test results yet.

  4. The person who has covid-19. Stay at home for at least five days. Isolate from others in the home for five days. After day 5, if fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication and symptoms have improved then the person may return to work/school. The person must wear a high-quality mask through day 10.

  5. If you have a moderate illness (shortness of breath or difficulty breathing) or severe illness (hospitalized), then isolate through day ten.

  6. After isolation, if your symptoms worsen then you start your isolation over at day 0.

  7. The person who has COVID-19 must always wear a mask.

  8. If a person has COVID-19, the immediate family members who are AIS students should also isolate for at least 5 days. They can test after day 5 and return to school based on the outcome.
