Elementary School, which goes from Preschool 3-year-olds through Fifth Grade, offers a rigorous academic program, infused with many opportunities for extracurricular learning. Teachers are highly qualified and use an American based curriculum that corresponds with AERO standards (an international alignment of Common Core). Every classroom is equipped with resources that will ensure student success, including technology resources that will allow students to develop skills needed in the 21st Century. Class sizes are kept at a maximum of 15 students, to ensure one-on-one and small group teacher-student opportunities.
Some of the extracurricular opportunities include a variety of After School Programs, like arts & crafts, swimming, sports, and Lego club, as well as the annual Music Christmas Program. Sports clubs are offered for grades K-5, while 5th graders are also given the opportunity to join the Middle School sports teams. Chapel is held weekly, as are Family groups, which are small discipleship groups. There are also many special events held throughout the year to promote community, including movie nights, Student Council events, Science Fair, and International Day.
The students in elementary school often reflect that AIS is their favorite school. This is not because of the location or the amenities, but because they feel part of a close, family-like community in their classrooms and in the school as a whole.
