AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Elementary School, which runs from Preschool 3-year-olds through Fifth Grade, offers a rigorous academic program, infused with many opportunities for extracurricular learning. Teachers are highly qualified and use an American-based curriculum that corresponds with AERO standards (an international alignment of Common Core). Every classroom is equipped with resources that will ensure student success, including technology resources that will allow students to develop skills needed in the 21st Century. Class sizes are kept at a maximum of 15 students, to ensure one-on-one and small-group teacher-student opportunities.

 

AIS is committed to providing excellent education on campus.  AIS has equipped teachers with cutting-edge technology resources to make online learning seamless for both teachers and students. Students will not only meet with their own classroom teacher but also their specials (art, music, PE, IT, and library) teachers online. 

 

Some of the extracurricular opportunities include a variety of after-school programs, like arts & crafts, swimming, sports, lego club, ballet, logic games, etc. Sports clubs are offered for grades K-5, while 5th graders are also given the opportunity to join the middle school sports teams. Chapel is held weekly, as are Family Groups, which are small discipleship groups. There are also many special events held throughout the year to promote community including Field day, School House Competitions, Spelling Bee, Science Fair, and International Day. 

 

The students in elementary school often reflect that AIS is their favorite school. This is not just because of the location and student-centered teaching, but because they feel part of a close, family-like community in their classrooms and in the school as a whole.
