2023 Academic Counseling End of Year Report

AIS provides comprehensive university counseling that begins in the ninth grade and continues until graduation from high school. Both students and parents are provided with the best tools to navigate the complicated and competitive process of searching and applying for the right university.

Our school counselors help equip AIS students with critical decision-making skills and to develop healthy interpersonal skills. Advisors provide comprehensive academic guidance and emotional support by offering a forum to address current issues young people face such as alcohol and drug abuse, bullying, anxiety, loneliness, and peer pressure.

Our school counselors play a crucial role in fostering a positive and inclusive school climate. They provide a safe space for students to discuss their concerns, whether related to academic difficulties, social interactions, personal issues, or career exploration. Our counselors work closely with students to develop personalized plans to address their needs, set goals, and make informed decisions about their educational and future pathways.

In addition to individual counseling, our school counselors also organize group counseling sessions and workshops on topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, study skills, and career planning. These sessions aim to equip students with essential life skills and empower them to overcome obstacles they may face.

Moreover, our school counselors collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to create a supportive network that ensures student success. They provide consultation and guidance to teachers on effective strategies for meeting students' diverse needs, facilitating positive relationships, and fostering a positive learning environment.

College Planning

Preparing for college can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to help students and families choose the path that best fits their needs. 12th-grade students meet with the school counselor at least twice a week to prepare essays, gather recommendation letters, and review academic requirements needed for the respective universities students are applying to. The 11th graders also meet their class academic advisors twice a week in preparation for their College, grades, college entrance exams, college search, and courses based on their interests and what they want to pursue.

Our dedicated team of college counselors works closely with students and families, offering expert advice on college choices, financial aid options, and scholarship opportunities. With a strong emphasis on academic excellence, character development, and career exploration, Our High School College Planning equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in college and beyond. Our goal is to empower students to pursue their passions and dreams, ensuring a successful transition to higher education institutions that align with their goals and values.
